Your Essential Packing Guide for the High Altitude Hoop Retreat
Heading to the High Altitude Hoop Retreat? Prepare to dive into a transformative journey where the serenity of the Santa Fe scenery meets the vibrant world of flow arts. To ensure you're ready to embrace every moment, we’ve compiled the ultimate packing list. Whether you're taking workshops, splashing in the pool or spinning the night away with new flowmies under the Santa Fe sky, here’s what you should bring to enhance your retreat experience:
Essentials & Electronics:
Hoops & Flow Props: Bring your favorite hoops and flow toys for jams. LED’s are a great idea for our nightly flow jams, too! Want to learn how to travel by air with hoops, check out a helpful blog post by our sister company, Mad About Hoops, here.
Camera or Smartphone with Tripod: Capture the magic of the retreat and the stunning scenery with a simple setup for photos and videos. Don’t forget your chargers!
Headphones: Bluetooth headphones for flow, meditation or sleep.
Sunglasses: Enjoy the sun with a little less squinting!
Clothing:
Flow friendly Apparel: Pack clothes that move with you – think hiking, yoga, and hooping. Layers work best for our dynamic mountain weather. Mornings and evenings can be chilly while the afternoon brings both sunshine and the occasional rain shower.
Fire-Safe Attire: Planning to join the fire jam? Wear natural fibers like 100% cotton, denim or bamboo to ensure safety and comfort.
Rain Gear: A lightweight raincoat will keep you dry during unexpected mountain showers.
Swimwear: Don’t forget your swimsuit for refreshing dips in our sparkling pool.
Pajamas: Get ready for our s’mores campfire pajama party with your comfiest sleepwear.
Special Touches:
Photoshoot outfit: All guests receive a complimentary photoshoot to memorialize your HAHR experience. Consider putting together an extra special look to rock out your model moment!
Performance outfit: If you plan on taking the stage during our attendee showcase, make the most of your moment in the spotlight! We’ve seen everything from sparkles to aliens and we love it all! Have fun with it!
Personal Items:
Snacks & Drinks: We have water/tea/coffee and a variety of snack options available for guests at all times, but you may want to consider keeping your favorite treats or fizzy drinks in your cabin refrigerator. Alcohol is not provided but is allowed on site. Feel free to stock your cabin with your drink of choice for events like the pool party, showcase night or evening jams!
Sun Protection: Sunscreen and hats are crucial for daytime activities under the bright Santa Fe skies.
Medications: First aid kits are available on site, but don’t forget any supplements or prescription medication to maintain your health and comfort throughout the retreat.
Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and face wash. Feminine hygiene products as well as shampoo/conditioner and body wash are provided in the shared bathhouses. If you need additional toiletries, prefer a certain brand or just want to have your own toiletries in your cabin bathroom, be sure to pack them!
Yoga: Yoga mats are provided, but if you’re driving, we encourage you to bring your own.
Bedding/Towels: Our adorable A frame bunkhouses really bring summer camp vibe to life. Bedding and a towel is provided for each bunk, but it’s summer camp style. We encourage you to bring your favorite throw blanket/pillow and a beach towel if you’re local or driving in!
What if I forget something:
Despite feeling super remote, our retreat center is only 20 minutes into town where you can find grocery stores and anything else you may need. If you’re taking advantage of our complimentary shuttle, the pick up site is a grocery store and shopping center. We encourage you to stop for last minute items prior to check in on opening day.
